HSBC Headquarters Executive Floor

1 Queen's Road Central, Hong Kong, 2008

In the first re-design of HSBC’s Regional Executive Floor since this building was completed in 1985, we worked closely with the Executives to capture varying requirements and viewpoints, forging consensus from Concept to Completion.

The dramatic facelift brings the regional executives together on one floor, facilitating more interactive engagement amongst the business leaders.VIP waiting areas and artwork galleries are opened to stunning views of the Harbour and cityscape for the first time in 23 years. Our strikingly modern re-design is a transformational departure from its predecessor, recognising that, whilst built as the global headquarters of a Hong Kong bank, this is now the regional headquarters of a global bank.

Significantly, the executive’s own offices are largely transparent. An enigmatic ‘veil’ embedded into the continuous floor-to-ceiling glass office fronts comprises two layers of crisply scored glass illuminated by concealed LED lighting, providing semi-obscurity and a luminous internal façade that adjusts with daylight. The visual identity and operating functionality of this floor now underscore the vibrancy and emerging-markets-focus of this C-Suite to help strengthen regional leadership collaboration.

Technology is fully integrated into every aspect of the interior, from customised financial broadcast video installations and state-of-the-art security systems, to high-definition videoconferencing incorporated into the wall of every office.
